About

Ondré Jude was born in Budapest and left it as an infant, carried across a border at night. She grew up in Nelson and Auckland, New Zealand, then later lived in Chicago and Tampa.

She remembers fully — not just what happened, but the smell of the room, the light on the wall, the exact weight of a feeling. She is now returning to those places and memories on purpose, and writing down what she finds there.

She has worked with her hands most of her life — kneading dough, easing pain out of other people’s bodies, building things meant to last. Designing and writing.

At seven she began writing — a running story, told daily, read aloud to one friend under a tree. The papers were left behind when her family moved on.

She never stopped believing in what a story could hold.
